Drive Through Leh Manali

MANALI  Leh :-Drive (558Km):  A Road Trip without parallel one Journeys through one of the most spectacular and desolate area of the country along the second Highest Road in the world, over four passes, before arriving Leh. The Total Distance from Manali to Delhi (948 Km).

Itinerary:  

Day 1st:   Arrive Manali at an altitude of (1896m). By surface/ By Air/ to Chandigarh (309Km) drive.Manali is known as Queen of measure Hill stations. According to the Hindu Methalogy it is said to have been created by the Sage Manu.


State: -     Himachal Pradesh.                                                                      
Location: -      Manali is at the confluence of the Beas and Manalsu river in the North.

 

Day 1st.   Reception and Transfer.Over night in Hotel.

 

Day 2nd:  Morning visit to Hadimba Devi Temple, This Temple is dedicated To the Godess Harma surrounded by mighty and majestic Deodar Trees (Cedur). After visiting Hadimba Devi Temple we will proceed to visit Vashisht with bubling Hot Baths and old Temple set up &A small Village commanding the Valley and Beas River. The Pramidal stone Temple was built in 1650 by Raja Jagat Singh in 1655 &dedicated Sage Vashisht Muni. Afternoon Free.


Day 3rd:  After Early Breakfast drive 220Km to Sarchu stopping at the string Of Dhabar at arhi, 17km short of Rounthang pass for refreshment. Crossing the Roungtang La, the first at the altitude of 13060 Ft and Descend to Koksar and Chander valley floor drive along the Chandra River for 35 Km to Tandi then into the Bhaga valley, traveling North to Dharcha continue to Dhabas for lunch.after Dharcha the Road climbs the major pass The Baralucha (4892Mtrs) drive 35Km to tentative accomadation at Sarchu at the altitude of 4255mt.Meals and over night in Sarchu Camp.

 


Day 4th :  After Early Breakfast leave Sarchu for Leh via Lachu La (Alt 5065 Mtrs) enroute  to Pang and then on to an incredible (45Km) long flat Sessions Moray plains. The next obstacle to tackle is the Highest Pass on this road Tanglang La at the altitude of (5360Mtrs.) descend Down to Upshi at the Altitude of (3385Mtrs).Afternoon reception and check in Hotel in Leh.  

 

Day 5th : - Morning full day sightseeing of Shey, Thiksey Hemis monasteries. Overnight Hotel.  

Day 6:-  Drive back to Leh over the Khardunla pass, O/N in hotel. Evening visit Leh bazaar. Overnight in hotel

Day 7th: - Early Morning drive to Pangong Lake. Distance one Way145kms.Pamgong Lake is the part of the border area between India and China on Indian Side Lake is 40miles in length and 2-4 miles in width. The majority lies on the Chinese side of the border.  It  is   believed that 75% of the lake  is in china. This is largest serene Lake at an altitude of 13,930.has brilliant color variations including deep blue, turquoise etc. Drive back to Leh for over night.

Day 8th : -   Early morning drive Kargil altitude of 3400 mts. Via Lamayuru Alchi and Mulbek.

 


Day 9th : -Morning drive to Srinagar via Matyan and  Drass village(2nd inhabit  coldest place in the world) Arrive Srinagar  .Check in House-boat  for overnight. Eveing Shikara ride on Dal-lakemeals and overnight in House-boat.

Day 10th : - On time transfer to Srinagar airport, depart Srinagar.
